The cast and crew of Mohon Masque’s “Newsies” made history at the High School Musical Theatre Awards at Proctors Theatre in Schenectady, earning the awards for Outstanding Musical (Tier A) and Backstage Excellence. In addition, the Collaborative School of the Arts voted on one student to receive the “Rising Star” award, which went to Mohonasen’s Angel Rodriguez. Students spent the week leading up to the event rehearsing and preparing their group performance on the Proctors Mainstage while working alongside Proctors staff and crew.
