Students in Mrs. Scalise and Mrs. Restifo’s class have been studying the Winter Olympics and Italy, including the history and traditions of pizza.
Students visited Palazzo Ristorante in Rotterdam at the invitation of owner Joe, who opened the restaurant specifically for the class. Students learned about his Italian heritage, his journey to the United States, and the various roles involved in running a restaurant. Each student also had the opportunity to make a personal pizza in the kitchen.
The visit provided a hands-on learning experience connected to their classroom studies.
