Pinewood students gathered on Monday to celebrate Flag Day with a ceremony honoring the American flag and the values it represents. As part of the program, the winners of the Flag Day essay contest read their speeches to their peers, sharing personal reflections.

Board Vice President, Chad McFarland, also addressed the crowd, emphasizing the importance of citizenship and respect.

There was a flag-folding demonstration performed by the Schenectady Junior ROTC drill team. As each fold was made, Ms. DeVito explained the meaning, each step symbolizing core American values such as liberty, unity and sacrifice.
