Ms. McGuire’s second-grade class showed their gratitude for those who serve by creating toiletry kits for patients at the Albany VA. The students also prepared a special care package to send to a classmate’s uncle, currently stationed in Japan. Each student decorated the bags with heartfelt drawings and messages, adding a personal touch to every kit.
Veterans visited the classroom to help the students assemble the kits, sharing stories and helping them understand the importance of giving back. It was a meaningful, hands-on way for students to honor and support those who have served our country.
On Wednesday, Nov. 12, New York State Representative Angelo Santabarbara also joined the class to help assemble the kits.
