School Traffic Officer

Start Date: Ongoing
Responsibilities: This position involves responsibility for the exercise of vigilance in stopping and directing traffic for the protection of children crossing streets and roads going to and from school. The work is performed independently with occasional directions from a superior. The successful candidate(s) will do related work as required.
Duties: Directs traffic at cross walks near school; Aids children crossing streets; Stops traffic when children are ready to cross; and Instructs younger children concerning proper placement and precautions to be taken when crossing a street or road.
Qualifications: Good general intelligence; ability to be firm and courteous with the public; ability to get along well with children; ability to read and write; good hand-eye coordination; good powers of observation; willingness to work outdoors, occasionally under adverse weather conditions; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
Minimum qualifications: Completion of two years of high school.

Skills: Provide day to day consultation, training, instruction, troubleshooting and communications to the personal computer user for hardware, software, network and related computer systems and peripheral devices; ensures their operation for individuals and groups of computer users; at times installs and configures systems; maintains hardware and software inventory and assists with acquisitions.

Need for School Bus Drivers & Substitute Bus Drivers

Looking for a part-time job with flexible hours? Like many schools around the region, Mohonasen is facing a serious shortage of bus drivers. If you or someone you know might be interested in a part-time job, please contact our Transportation Department at 356-8260. Mohonasen provides free training for the required CDL Class B license.

Our bus drivers typically work two shifts each day, from 6:45-8:45 a.m. and 2-4 p.m. There is also need for a driver interested in working a 2:30-4:30 p.m. shift only. Salary is per contract (plus health benefits for those working 20 hours/week). This is a great job for reliable drivers who like working with kids in our community and could use a part-time income. Recently retired? Many of our current bus drivers say the job keeps them busy — but not too busy to enjoy their retirement!
