Draper Middle School recently held its annual school-wide spelling bee. In the week leading up to the event, each classroom hosted its own competition to determine a classroom champion. Those champions then advanced to compete for the title of school-wide winner.
Congratulations to eighth grader Delaney Wilson, who claimed the Draper Middle School Spelling Bee Championship by correctly spelling the word “chartreuse.” Delaney will move on to represent Draper Middle School at the regional competition, which will be held at The Red Bookshelf in Albany on March 28.
The following students were eliminated during the same round, which led into the final round that ultimately sealed the victory for Delaney: Weston Surnear (6th), Ethan Anderson (8th), Casey McClurken (6th), and Ja’Son Gentry (6th).
Congratulations to all participants for their enthusiasm, effort, and outstanding sportsmanship throughout the competition.
