This is a reminder that there will be a FAFSA help night at Mohonasen High School on Wednesday, Dec. 3. You must sign up to attend the event.
The 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available, and we are holding an in-person FAFSA workshop Wed, Dec. 3, from 5:30-7 p.m. at Mohonasen High School. You and your parent(s) can work through your FAFSA and TAP forms, and as questions arise, get help from a financial aid expert to be able to submit your FAFSA and TAP forms that night.
YOU MUST REGISTER FOR YOUR FSA IDs (parent and student both) BEFOREHAND to begin filling in your FAFSA that night. You need your FSA ID to be able to log in to the FAFSA.
- Please create your FSA ID before you sign up for a FAFSA time slot.

- It can take 3 days for your FSA ID and password to be approved and processed.
- You will get an email once it has been approved.

FAFSA/TAP form completion will be the most smooth and efficient if both the student and parent are at the computer and you start with the student section. The most productive and efficient way to use the 30 minutes on Dec 3 is to have already started the FAFSA, note your questions as you work through the form independently, and then bring them to the meeting.
SSNs are needed in both the parent and student sections in order to invite the other person to complete their part. There is also a 2 step verification to get into the form. Go to https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa to start the FAFSA. You will need your FSA ID to start the form. Page 2 here is a list of items/info you will need to complete your forms.
