Mohonasen received the 2026 Best Communities for Music Education designation from the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education. This is the district’s ninth time receiving the award.
To earn the Best Communities for Music Education designation, the music department completed an in-depth survey covering areas such as funding, graduation requirements, student participation, instructional time, facilities, program support and community music-making opportunities. All responses were verified by school officials and reviewed and verified by WolfBrown, a leading research and evaluation firm specializing in education and the arts.
In 2026, more than 1,000 school districts and schools, including public, private, charter and parochial institutions, have been recognized for outstanding achievement in providing access to high-quality music education.
