The district is proud to announce that MHS computer science educator Maureen Conway has been named a recipient of the prestigious 2026 Computer Science Teachers Association of New York (CSTA-NY) Teaching Excellence Award.
This honor recognizes Mrs. Conway’s outstanding commitment to inspiring the next generation of innovators, driving inclusivity in computing education, and demonstrating exceptional instructional leadership in the field of computer science (CS).
Since 2017, Ms. Conway has been dedicated to providing her students with high-quality, meaningful computer science instruction. She has embraced the opportunities made possible through the district’s partnership with Siena College. She advances her own CS expertise by taking Siena courses, earning professional certification in Computer Science through New York State, co-presenting alongside Siena professors at state-level conferences, and contributing to multiple research studies on computer science education.
