Prekindergarten Common Core Standards
As standards and expectations have changed over the years for students in grades K-12, so have those for prekindergarten students. We are providing an abbreviated version of the national common core curriculum standards for prekindergarten students, which have been adopted by school districts across New York State, along with example activities parents can do with their child(ren) to reinforce these concepts and skills. Please note that the residency documents are required even if you have a child already attending school in our district. Acceptable forms of proofs of residency for Mohonasen Central School District can be found here. To be clear, you must include current immunizations and physicals with your registration packet. Packets should only include copies of important documents, not the originals.
After the May 7, 2021, deadline, completed registration packets may be turned in in one of the following three ways:
1: Dropped off in the drop box outside of the District Office doors, 2072 Curry Road. Paperwork can be dropped off there at any time.
2: Emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
3: Faxed to 518.356.8247
Once your registration is complete and all paperwork is received by the school, you will receive a call to set up your child’s screening appointment and complete additional forms as needed.
The main office is currently in the process of accepting mail in or drop off registration packets. The Kindergarten screening appointments will be made for in-person drop off on our daytime and evening nights. If you choose to mail in packets, you will be notified after the in-person registration is complete by telephone. If you would like more information about the DIAL screening, please be sure to visit the KDG Parent Orientation “virtual” presentation. The presentation link will be available on the website by Wednesday, April 28. We will also be sending out written notification to confirm the screening appointments in the beginning of May and to also provide you with specific information related to health and safety measures the school will be taking during the KDG screening process.
