Prekindergarten Common Core Standards

As standards and expectations have changed over the years for students in grades K-12, so have those for prekindergarten students. We are providing an abbreviated version of the national common core curriculum standards for prekindergarten students, which have been adopted by school districts across New York State, along with example activities parents can do with their child(ren) to reinforce these concepts and skills. Download information

Kindergarten registration for the 2019-2020 school year

Kindergarten registration packets are mailed in early March to families of students in our database who are eligible to attend kindergarten the next school year. Parents have three options to register their child:

  1. Mail in or drop off the registration information. All completed paperwork should be returned to Bradt Primary School at 2719 Hamburg Street, Schenectady, NY 12303.
  2. Daytime registration at Bradt School on April 15. Registration is 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Please bring all registration materials and necessary documents.
  3. Evening registration on April 16. Registration is 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Bradt cafeteria. Please bring all registration materials and necessary documents.

Kindergarten parent orientation/information night is scheduled for April 17, 6:30 p.m.

Parents will need to complete the New Student Registration Form and show proof of the child’s age and residency. Parents are required to provide their child’s birth certificate during this process. Please note that the residency documents are required even if you have a child already attending school in our district.

Once your registration is complete and all paperwork is received by the school, you will receive a call to set up your child’s screening appointment and complete additional forms as needed. Screenings will take place between May 16 and May 21, 2019.

Parents who have not already filled out a census form should do so as soon as possible. It should be completed and returned to Bradt Primary School as soon as possible to ensure that registration materials are sent to you.

If you have any questions regarding age or residency documentation, please call 518.356.8401.

Parents who have chosen not to send their child to school for next year, or who are planning to enroll their child in a non-public school, are asked to please notify Bradt school at 518.356.8401 as soon as possible.
