Board of Education adopts proposed 2024-25 school budget

During its regular meeting on March 25, the Mohonasen Board of Education voted unanimously to adopt a proposed $67,825,000 budget for the 2024-25 school year.

The proposed spending plan represents an increase of $3.36 million, or 5.20%, over the current year. The district remains committed to providing a high-quality education and resources for all students.

Under this proposal, the tax levy would increase an estimated 1.84%, which is well below the district’s maximum allowable limit. Because the tax levy increase remains below the district’s allowable limit, as determined by the state’s tax “cap” formula, a simple majority of voters (50% + 1) is needed to pass the budget.

District residents will vote on the proposed 2024-25 school budget on Tuesday, May 21, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.
