For the fourth consecutive year, students in a Capital Region BOCES class based at Mohonasen High School are holding a coat drive for Schenectady City Mission.

The students hold the drive as part of a work-based service learning project.

Teacher Brent Pierce said it’s a good opportunity for students to experience much of the donation process, from collecting and sorting to delivering to City Mission.

“We’ve had a good response for donations in the past,” said Pierce.

Gently used winter coats, hats, mittens and gloves can be dropped off to one of the large, red collection boxes located in the main lobby of each school. The coat drive runs through Dec. 23.
