What happens when you combine NASA space sounds and Music Theory students?

Mohonasen High School’s Music Department and the Center for Advanced Technology will present “I See Stars,” a 30-minute planetarium show at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7 at miSci in Schenectady.

The three-part multimedia exploration features original music and prose inspired by sounds and images from NASA space exploration. The student compositions are based on NASA space sounds from their site and SoundCloud, NASA images and writings, and narration from students sharing their thoughts on the universe.

The three parts are as follows:

Part 1: We Were There
The early years of space exploration and the lunar landing.

Part 2: From There to Here
There are approximately 1900 satellites orbiting the earth, including about 20 NASA satellites, and the International Space Station. There are always a few people in space. What do they, and all these satellites see?

Part 3: I See Stars
Our galaxy and beyond as seen from space telescopes and spacecrafts.
