Dear Mohonasen Parents,
As I mentioned in my previous communication, we were awaiting further clarification regarding the Governor’s recent executive order closing schools in New York State through and including Tuesday, April 14th. The exact wording of the Executive order may be viewed at the following link, No. 202.11: Continuing Temporary Suspension and Modification of Laws Relating to the Disaster Emergency. The order contains specific language that school districts are required to provide continuity of instruction, meals for students and childcare resources on weekdays, including days which were originally part of any previously scheduled spring break. As this information is currently being discussed online and in the news media I did not want to wait until Friday to communicate this to you directly.
The details of the latest executive order mean that if the Governor does not extend his current closure order, Mohonasen will return to school on-site on April 15. The Governor still plans to enact school closure orders in two-week blocks, so I will be sure to clearly communicate the details of any additional executive order as soon as it becomes available.
Our website’s homepage continues to be the primary source for the following:
- Instructional resources and information for students and families;
- Meal distribution times and location; and
- Childcare resources for families of essential workers
Thank you for your perseverance and patience as we continue to navigate this crisis together.
Yours in Service,
