High school students and teachers came together during an entertaining and energy-filled Homecoming Pep Rally on Friday, Oct. 2. The rally showcased students alongside their teachers, with athletic competitions and musical performances by combined groups – truly an example of #MohonMovingForwardTogether.
Emcees and seniors Grant Little and Adam Ziobrowski kept the crowd pumped up as cheerleaders hosted a “jump off,” demonstrating a cheer jump that was (sort of) replicated by teacher participants. (Congratulations Mrs. Butz, who received the loudest cheer to win the contest.) The boys’ soccer team took shots as Assistant Principal Mr. Shaffer defended the goal, and varsity quarterback Nate Stillson went head-to-head with Athletic Director Mr. Stein in a football throwing contest. The marching band performed “The Pen of Freedom 1814,” and a band comprised of students and teachers rewrote the lyrics to the Cheap Trick song “Surrender” to make it more Mohon-themed.
The day was capped off by victory on the gridiron when Mohonasen topped Bishop Maginn 48-28.
