DraperCityMission1Students and staff have an opportunity to give back to the community thanks to a partnership between the Draper Middle School Service Initiative Committee and the City Mission of Schenectady. Twice per month, middle school and high school students and staff volunteer after school at the sorting center in Rotterdam.

The committee is planning other projects, including serving meals to City Mission residents, holding clothing and food drives at school, and having “hat days” for students to raise money that will be used to fund various Mission initiatives.

“We are excited to be able to offer these opportunities to our students and staff at Mohonasen and anxiously anticipate expanding this school-community partnership with the City Mission,” said Angie Santabarbara, Draper counselor and a member of the committee.
