Draper Middle School students are learning that math, science, reading and baking adds up to delicious bread!

Using ingredients donated by King Arthur Flour, groups of students from MaryAnn Nickloy and Amanda Rider’s classes joined Home & Careers teacher Amy Stott for a community service project designed to teach the skills needed to make bread from scratch. This includes math and science skills, as well as problem-solving, creativity, collaboration, reading and following baking technique tips and directions, and effectively managing time.

Students will soon experience the joy and satisfaction that comes from helping others when they deliver their bread donations to the Schenectady YWCA in-person on Friday, May 15.
