Students and staff at Pinewood Intermediate School have been enjoying the school’s updated facilities since renovation work on the cafeteria and gymnasium came to a close in early January.
The gymnasium renovation expanded the area allotted to indoor physical education activities, allowing students and staff members to move around more freely within the gym. The new cafeteria design features more seating space and a reconfigured serving line that has helped to relieve congestion during busy times.
In addition to the cafeteria and gym updates, Pinewood received renovations in 2015 to its psychology and speech offices, as well as storage spaces, to improve the functionality of these rooms. All renovations were part of a $48.2 million capital construction plan that was approved by Mohonasen residents in November 2013. The project is divided into three phases, the last of which will begin this spring and summer.
