Draper’s sixth graders got a glimpse of life in the Middle Ages during Medieval Day in May.
Medieval Day is the culminating activity for the Grade 6 Middle Ages unit. During the month of May, students learned about life in the Middle Ages and conducted a research project in their social studies and ELA classes. Many students wore medieval costumes, which demonstrated their knowledge of the caste system, and prizes were awarded for exceptional handmade costumes.
As part of Medieval Day, students experienced a jousting demonstration, weapons display, a blacksmith and a knighting ceremony, as well as various foods of the time period.
