| November 10, 2015
Please be aware that Mohonasen conducted formal lockdown drills at Mohonasen High School and Bradt Primary School today. The drill was conducted by the Rotterdam Police Department, our School Resource Officer, and our Director of Safety and Security. The event lasted approximately 15 minutes at each school, during which time each building went into complete lockdown as it would if an intruder was in the building. All school staff and students responded appropriately and quickly returned to the regularly scheduled day.
Drills like this are part of Mohonasen’s effort to plan for and ensure that staff members are trained in how to act during a potential emergency and to give students practice opportunities. As always, our goal is to make sure that students and staff are as safe as possible at all times, and drills are an important way for us to practice and improve our protocols and procedures.
Parents: please take the time to discuss today’s drill with your child(ren), including any anxiety they may have. As always, if you have any questions about this event or safety procedures, please contact the superintendent’s office or your child’s school principal.
