Residents have the opportunity to learn more about the proposed 2018-19 school spending plan and the candidates running for the Board of Education during the district’s annual Budget Hearing and Meet the Candidates forum at 6 p.m. on Monday, May 7, in the Farnsworth Technology Center (LGI) at Mohonasen High School.

Assistant Superintendent for Business Chris Ruberti will provide an overview of the $53,065,000 spending plan adopted by the Board of Education as well as a proposal to purchase three full-size and three 33-passenger buses.

Three of seven seats on Mohonasen’s Board of Education are up for election on May 15. Running for these seats are, in ballot order, newcomer Morgan Beach, current Vice President Pamela Young, newcomer Wade Abbott and current board member Patrick Ryan.
Candidates will be asked to respond to a series of questions prepared by the district’s communications staff as well as to questions submitted by members of the audience. (Read the candidates’ bios)

Both the budget hearing and meet the candidates event will be videotaped, and the videos will be posted on the district website after the May 7 forum.
