A Draper MS student creates a coin jar to collect donations for hurricane relief efforts.

Students at Draper Middle School spent Wednesday afternoon creating coin collection jars for Kind Coins for Hurricane Relief through the Kids for Peace organization.

The program is running from November 1st through November 17th.  All donations will go directly towards rebuilding playgrounds and school supplies at hurricane affected schools in Florida, Louisiana, Puerto Rico, and Texas.

Studies show that through play and positive interactions, children can persevere through traumatic events in their life, so what better way to help  then to rebuild playgrounds at their schools that have been damaged and even destroyed through these hurricanes!

These collection jars will be located in the cafeteria and main lobby and everyone is encouraged to donate to this great cause. For more photos of students creating their donation jars, please check out our Facebook photo album.
