| March 9, 2023

March is National Youth Art Month and many of the district’s talented young artists are being featured in the K-8 Empire State Plaza Art Collection Exhibit. Their artwork will be exhibited at the Empire State Plaza in Albany on the South Concourse from March 6-24.

This year’s exhibition includes over 1,300 artworks from 17 surrounding Capital Region school districts. The student art was inspired by the Empire State Plaza Collection (ESP) which includes 92 works of abstract expressionist art displayed both in and around the plaza.

On March 16, from 5:30- 6:30 p.m. in the South Concourse there will be a live opening reception with a guest speaker. Tammis Groft, Executive Director Emerita of the Albany Institute of History and Art, will share her insights about the ESP Collection and the student work. The event will be open to Mohonasen families.
