Important information regarding admission to home athletic events
Students in grades K through 8 must be accompanied by an adult
In an effort to maintain the utmost safety and security, Mohonasen Central School District requires that all students in grades K-8 be accompanied by an adult at home athletic events, including Friday night’s Homecoming football game.
High school students may enter through the turnstile at Warrior Way for Friday night’s Homecoming game. All visitors other than high school students must enter the field via the Warrior Way gate entrance. Please note that no backpacks may be brought into the game.
Football games have traditionally been a community event at Mohonasen. Homecoming, in particular, tends to draw higher attendance, as current and former students are joined by parents and community members in an amazing display of Mohon Pride. This increased attendance presents a challenge to our staff in ensuring that we provide a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for all who are attending the game.
While we expect that all Mohonasen students will conduct themselves appropriately and safely as fans, we are particularly concerned about the safety of our elementary and middle school students. We have recently observed that more parents are dropping off their 8th grade and younger children at the high school and picking them up when a game is over. While we have numerous chaperones, the size of the campus and number of spectators diminish our ability to safely supervise unattended youngsters.
Please be reminded that students in grades K-8 should not be dropped off at the high school for games. In addition, high school students are required to carry a valid ID while attending home athletic events. These will be verified at the ticket lines as fans enter the game.
These rules are in place to allow an environment where all can safely enjoy the event. We will be reminding our students about these rules at all Mohonasen schools in advance of Friday’s Homecoming game. If you have questions regarding these guidelines, please contact the District Office at (518) 356-8200.
Thank you for your cooperation.
