HopeHouse1Residents of Hope House, an adolescent drug and alcohol treatment programs, recently spoke with 9th graders about the risks associated with substance abuse. The presentation is part of the evidenced-based substance abuse prevention education program facilitated by social worker Diane Blinn during physical education classes in January.

Topics included facts and risks associated with tobacco and other drug use, the teen brain, the impact of addiction on families and stress and healthy coping mechanisms.
