Mark your calendar for Mohonasen’s upcoming Unified Basketball games! The Unified Sports program is a collaboration between the New York State Public High School Athletic Association and the Special Olympics and aims to encourage interaction and sportsmanship between students with and without intellectual disabilities. Currently in its third year at Mohonasen, this inclusive program emphasizes the value of teamwork and the opportunity for students to compete as one team.
This spring’s game dates and themes are:
- Thursday, May 12: “Orange Crush” theme; wear orange.
- Monday, May 23: “Black Hole” theme; wear black.
- Wednesday, May 25: “Senior Night;” wear orange and black.
All games begin at 4:15 p.m. and will take place in the Mohonasen High School gym. This year’s team is supported by coach Ben Pierson and assistant coaches Katie Bartone and Drew Enlow, and consists of the following players: Chris Chandler, Vittoria Constantini, Joe DelBrocco, Alyssa Enlow, Jack Fitch, Dylan Hart, Matthew Hupe, Spencer Peno, Devin Pigliavento, Armani Pizarro, Michelle Schutten, Justin Smith, Mike Snow, Steven Turnbull.
