Dear Seniors and Parents and Guardians of Seniors,

I write today to share the Mohonasen High School plan for graduation. There are many factors that influenced this plan. Those include the governor’s executive orders and the guidelines for the phased re-opening of New York state. Additionally, our plan was influenced by responses to our survey, which were reviewed by a committee including students, parents, teachers, and administrators. Ultimately, the plan we developed respects state restrictions and incorporates many of the ideas shared from our community. Please understand that our current restrictions not only prohibit an in-person gathering but also prohibit the use of a drive-in theater for a graduation ceremony. Our plan maintains flexibility in the event restrictions is lessened. I am happy to share this plan (read the plan here) with you today.

You will receive, via mail, your individual graduation time slot, but the entire list is available here.

Please make your best effort to attend your scheduled time slot, and understand the need to be punctual. If you cannot attend your scheduled time slot, please contact the high school here and another time slot will be provided. The general time for rescheduled appointments will be June 11, from 3 to 6 p.m. The plan for traffic flow and social distancing protocol will be shared before we begin the appointments on Monday.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we work through these challenging circumstances. I am gratified by the recognition we have already implemented and excited by those we have planned in the next few weeks. Congratulations to the Class of 2020!
