Former BOCES employee charged with misdemeanor
The following statement was released by Capital Region BOCES regarding a former employee who was assigned to a self-contained classroom at Draper Middle School before retiring in 2015:
We have been informed that a former Capital Region BOCES employee has been under investigation by the Rotterdam Police for an incident that occurred while he was employed as a social worker in a BOCES self-contained classroom operating at Draper Middle School in the Mohonasen School District. The employee retired in 2015, and is no longer employed by Capital Region BOCES. According to the Rotterdam Police, the person in question has been charged with a single misdemeanor count of forcible touching, based on the results of this investigation.
At Mohonasen, we are committed to the safety of our students, and we encourage any student who has concerns to speak with a trusted adult at any of our schools.
