Young scientists are benefiting from the expertise of local engineers. Recently, guests from General Electric visited Carolyn Lundy’s seventh grade Challenge Science class to answer questions and brainstorm ideas as students worked in small groupsĀ on an alternative energy research project. Among the topics of study are solar electric, solar thermal, wind turbine and geothermal energy. In addition to conducting research, students are also responsible for designing a model.
