| June 13, 2016

Students in the district’s work-based learning program recognized employers with a ceremony and breakfast on June 10.

The program offers students with disabilities an opportunity to participate in real-life employment experiences.

Throughout the school year, students participated in both school-based and community-based work experiences. During the Employer Recognition Celebration, each student gave a presentation on his/her experience. A reception with attendees took place after the presentations.

“These students are proof that if you put your mind to something, you can achieve it,” said Graham Macbeth, Work-Based Learning Supervisor.

Danielle Basso, of Hannaford bakery, was named Mentor of the Year.

Special thanks to the businesses and district departments involved in this year’s program:

  • Hannaford Supermarkets
  • The YMCA: Downtown on State Street
  • The YMCA: The Commons on Broadway
  • Bradt Elementary School
  • Mohonasen Transportation Department
