At Draper, Mrs. Degnan’s ELA 7 students have been learning all about the writing elements authors use to craft engaging stories as part of their unit on Short Stories.

The seventh graders wrote creative spooky stories incorporating what they learned, helped edit one another’s work and celebrated with a Halloween Publishing Party.

They also exercised their right to vote…in the categories of Spookiest Story, Best Use of Imagery, Best Use of Character, and Best Use of Suspense. Winners can be found below:

  • Spookiest Story: Claudia Hetzer, Aiden Pollizatto, Lucy Horaczek
  • Best Use of Imagery: Cael Sullivan, Quinlan O’Brien, Georgia Moss
  • Best Use of Suspense: Madelyn Shults, Morgan Castelli, Bruce Smith
  • Best Use of Character: Emily Lindemann, Tessa McFarland, Reagan Phipps

Congratulations to all!
