Draper students celebrate history-making Black Americans
Each February, the nation celebrates Black History Month by honoring Black Americans and the contributions they have made throughout history, while also recognizing the ongoing fight for racial justice.
This month, Draper students celebrated influential Black figures by creating a flier with information, an inspirational quote or an illustration of a person of their choice.
The students selected influential individuals such as civil rights icons Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr., gifted musicians George Walker and Florence Price, and famous athletes Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.
The work is being displayed outside Draper classrooms.
