| May 11, 2017

Earlier in May, Draper Middle School students from the computer skills class taught by Ms. Manno and Ms. Baker took part in a project that crossed state lines – with the help of Google Hangouts! Participating in a “Mystery Google Hangout,” the Draper class chatted with students from Avon Middle School in Avon, Ohio – without knowing where their peers were located. Both classes were tasked with figuring out the name and location of the other school using clues like maps, sports teams, state flags, weather and yes or no questions about the school and area. The Mohon students were the first to correctly guess their partner school and had a great time interacting with the Avon students!

On May 1, Draper Middle School students from the computer skills class taught by Ms. Manno and Ms. Baker took part in a project that crossed state lines with the help of Google Hangouts.

As they participated in a “Mystery Google Hangout,” the Draper class chatted with students from Avon Middle School in Avon, Ohio – without knowing where their peers were located. Both classes were tasked with figuring out the location of the other school using clues such as maps, sports teams, state flags, weather and yes-or-no questions about the school and area. The students shared information via Google Hangouts and collaboration software Padlet — using in-classroom technology to aid their search and enhance their learning experiences.

The Mohon student-sleuths were the first to correctly guess their partner school and enjoyed interacting with the Avon students throughout this exciting project.
