Mohonasen Central School District this year introduces a new K-5 report card.

“The new report card will help us better communicate with parents how their children are doing in the classroom,” said Lisa Cutting, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction.

The new report card aligns the district’s reporting system with state learning standards. It also outlines the standards each student should meet at each grade level in all academic areas.

Parents will be introduced to the new report card during fall parent-teacher conferences.

Standards-based grading measures each student’s performance against clearly stated progress benchmarks. The district will still use the “4-3-2-1” scale, as has been used in the past. The main difference is the amount of detailed information parents will receive about the progress their children are making toward specific skills in each content area.
