Community forum on superintendent search set for Jan. 9
Community members are invited to provide input as part of the superintendent search process during one of two community forums set for Tuesday, Jan. 9, in the Farnsworth Technology Center (LGI) at Mohonasen High School. One session will be held from 3:15-4:15 p.m., and a second from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Community members, including parents, guardians, district residents, faculty and staff, are asked to share what they are looking for in a new superintendent, what they see as the district’s strengths and areas that need improvement.
The Board of Education is working with Capital Region BOCES to conduct the superintendent search. Meetings with the community as well as district faculty and staff are an important part of that search process.
In early December, Superintendent Dr. Kathleen Spring announced her intent to retire at the end of June. The board intends to have a new superintendent in place for a July 1, 2018 start date.
