| April 1, 2016

Draper Middle School eighth graders explored potential careers during “Passport to Your Future,” a daylong, career-focused field trip to Schenectady County Community College on March 18.

Students “dressed for success” as they listened attentively to presenters discuss their chosen fields. Keynote speaker Mike Saccochio, Schenectady City Mission Executive Director, urged students to consider a career doing something they love. “Do small things well,” he said, and success will follow.

Participating students attended four different career sessions from among 20 offered by guest speakers. Students were assigned to career sessions that matched the results of career interest inventories they completed at school earlier in the year.

Draper guidance counselors organize the annual event to get students excited about potential future careers.
