Dear Bradt families,
Summer is nearly here and with it comes the opportunity for an exciting reading experience! Children entering K, 1 and 2 will be asked to complete a Summer Reading Assignment. Students will be recognized with a Certificate of Completion at our first Morning Program in October.
Bradt teachers and our school librarian have collaborated to select books and assignments that are differentiated for our students. The completed assignments for all students in Grades K, 1, and 2 are due to the child’s teacher the first full week back to school.
Incoming K, 1, and 2 students received their summer reading book. Students who are entering Kindergarten will be reading “The Night Before Kindergarten,” by Natasha Wing, which is included in the summer Backpack that was received on your child’s screening day at Bradt (Purple or Green). Students who will be screening in the summer will receive backpacks at their screening. The packets to go along with the book are also in the backpack and on our district website under Summer Reading Assignments.
Grade 1 and 2 students received their book (on loan from the library) and reading activity packet, along with this letter during their library special area time. Incoming first and second grade students should return their books to the Bradt Library during the first full week of school in September.
If you have any questions, you may contact the Bradt Office at 518-356-8400. Thank you and enjoy these great books. Reading makes summer even more fun!
