Summer is nearly here and with it comes the opportunity for an exciting reading experience! Children entering K, 1, and 2 will be asked to complete a Summer Reading Assignment. Students will be recognized with a Certificate of Completion at our first Morning Program in October. The completed assignments for all students in Grades K, 1, and 2 are due to the child’s teacher the first full week back to school.
Due to the changes that have occurred this year, the summer reading assignment will look slightly different. Incoming kindergarten students will be reading The Night Before Kindergarten by Natasha Wing. This book will be handed out in the backpack your child receives during the screening. Since students have not been in school, we were unable to hand out books to first and second-grade students. Instead, they will be allowed to choose ANY fiction or non-fiction books for summer reading that they have access to at home, or digitally. Here is the link to SORA, which is the online app to get books digitally https://soraapp.com/welcome Username is the student’s first initial of their first name, underscore, and last name, @mohonasen.org and the passwords is “library”. For example, mine would be firstname.lastname@example.org
If you have any questions, you may contact the Bradt Office at 518.356.8400. Thank you and enjoy these great books. Reading makes summer even more fun!
