Dear Bradt Parents,

The purpose of this letter is to describe the Third Trimester grading procedure for the 2019-2020 school year. Prior to moving to remote learning, we had completed Trimester 2 Report Cards. We were just entering the final trimester when we began remote learning, therefore we need to make modifications to how will be reporting the final marking period. We will be using the system outlined below to provide feedback on your child’s success over this window of time.

It is essential, that as a school community, we are maintaining the “continuity of learning” to keep our students engaged for the remainder of the year to ensure we are prepared for the 2020-21 school year. We would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that student effort, engagement, and participation will be a major component of success during remote instruction. We want to thank all of our students, parents, faculty, and staff for all of their hard work and flexibility throughout this difficult and unprecedented time.

Grading K-2

We have decided that no report indicators will be graded for this marking period; however, similar to the other 24 school districts in our Capital Region BOCES, we will be providing a narrative summary specific to your individual child, as well as resources or tools to promote learning over the summer. The grade levels will coordinate regarding what information is going to be shared and how this information will be provided.

Please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns or need additional support. As we shared in the beginning of this letter, it is important that we maintain the continuity of learning throughout the remainder of the school year and want to thank you for your support.

In Partnership,

Leslie Smith
