At approximately 10:15 AM today, Bradt School was placed in lockout based on information received from the Rotterdam Police Department. A lockout is used to secure a school building during incidents that pose an imminent concern outside of the school. Movement within the building is permitted, but no activities take place outdoors.
Rotterdam Police later determined there was no safety concern in the area, and the lockout was lifted just after 10:30 AM.
Our staff did a great job ensuring that the lockout procedures were followed and were able to secure the building within minutes of the notification. As always, we encourage you to discuss these matters as you see fit with your child. The school does have resources in place, including our school counselor and school psychologist to support students, if necessary.
Please feel free to reach out if you need any further assistance through the Bradt main office at 518-356-8400.
