Members of the boys basketball team took part in an April 24 net cutting ceremony in the high school gym to cap off their spectacular season.

Mohonasen Athletic Director Jason Friesen had a sectionals and finals net hung in the Mohonasen High School gym for the ceremony. Each boy and coach snipped a piece of one of the nets as a token of their quest for the state title for the first time in the school’s history.

Following the net cutting, the boys received a proclamation from Town Supervisor Steven Tommasone and Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara.

The boys then traveled to the State Capitol where they were honored on the floor of the New York State Assembly.

The boys lost 61-56 against Section I champion Ardsley in the Class A state semifinals in March.
