Annual School District Meeting | High School gym

The meeting was called to order at 6:59 AM by Mr. Raymond Andi, Assistant Clerk, who asked the inspectors to inspect the voting machines to be used for voting and sign the required affidavits.  The polls were declared officially opened at 7:00 AM.

At 9:00 PM Mr. Christopher Ruberti, District Clerk, declared the voting to be ended, absentee ballots were opened and scanned, and the voting machines were inspected and closed. The inspectors officially certified the following results:

Shall the following resolution be adopted, to wit:

RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Rotterdam-Mohonasen Central School District, Towns of Rotterdam, Schenectady County, and Colonie and Guilderland, Albany County, New York, be authorized to expend the sum of fifty-four million three hundred fifty-five thousand dollars ($54,355,000) for school purposes during the 2019-2020 school year and levy the necessary tax therefore.

  • Number voting IN FAVOR of the proposed BUDGET: 771
  • Number voting AGAINST the proposed BUDGET: 360

Propositions: Buses

Shall the following resolution be adopted, to wit:

RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Rotterdam-Mohonasen Central School District, Towns of Rotterdam, Schenectady County, and Colonie and Guilderland, Albany County, New York, is hereby authorized to pay the cost of the purchase of school buses of and for said School District, including incidental improvements and expenses in connection therewith, at a maximum estimated cost of six hundred ten thousand dollars ($610,000.00) and providing for the levy of a tax therefore to be collected in installments, with obligations of said School District to be issued in anticipation thereof in an amount not to exceed six hundred ten thousand dollars ($610,000.00).

Deborah Escobar and Chad McFarland will serve three-year terms from July 1, 2019 until June 30, 2022.

MOTION made by Ms. Young, seconded by Mrs. Gaglioti, that all proceedings of this Annual School District Meeting be ratified and confirmed, to wit:  the proposed budget for the 2019-2020 school year in the amount of $54,355,000 was approved; the expenditure of $610,000 for the purchase of buses was approved; and Deborah Escobar was re-elected and Chad McFarland was elected to the Board of Education.  The motion was approved unanimously by all those present, approximately 7 district residents.
