Call to Order
The Board meeting was called to order by the President, Mrs. Gaglioti, at 6:30 PM. Mrs. Gaglioti requested those present to stand and join in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. (Meeting was held virtually via Google Meet due to COVID-19 restrictions)

Executive Session
MOTION made by Mrs. MacTurk, seconded by Ms. Young, that an Executive Session be convened for the purpose of discussing personnel matters. The motion was passed unanimously, six members present and voting.

Return to Public Session
The Public Session was called to order by the President, Mrs. Gaglioti, at 7:13 PM. Mrs. Gaglioti requested those present to stand and join in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

Communications-Superintendent
Mrs. Lewis, Director of Special Education and Alternative Programs, presented the Board with a report on student support services. As of October 2019, there are 411 students with special needs which is 14% of the district’s population. 66% of these students are in general education for 80% or more of their school day. Mrs. Lewis and her staff plan to develop a district-wide response to intervention plan beginning in June. The response will address current intervention strategies, data collection, behavioral support and professional development.
Communications-Board of Education
Ms. Young stated that she recently met with Mr. Chandler regarding the newly formed task force for acknowledging graduating seniors and they were coming up with some good ideas. There will be more information to come. Mr. Shine discussed the new budget process for the mail-in vote which will take place on June 9th. 6,000 ballots will be mailed out and voters may return them through the mail or drop them off at the High School office. Mr. Shine also discussed some date changes to the May and June Board of Education meetings. The May 19th meeting (formerly the date of the budget vote) will be canceled, the vote will take place on June 9th via mail. The scheduled meeting on June 8th will now take place on June 1st and the June 29th meeting will now be on June 22nd.
New Business-Instructional
Request for Approval and Arrangement for the Committee on Special Education Recommendations and Student Placements and Committee on Pre-School Special Education
MOTION made by Mrs. MacTurk, seconded by Mr. McFarland, that the Board of Education approve and arrange for the recommendations of the Committee on Special Education and the Pre-School Special Education for meetings held on March 31, April 6, 8, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, and 27. The motion was passed unanimously, seven members present and voting.
New Business-Business/Personnel
Approval of Resolution to Adopt the Proposed 2020-2021 School Year Budget
MOTION made by Mrs. MacTurk, seconded by Mrs. Escobar, that the Board of Education vote on the following resolution to adopt the 2020-2021 School Year Budget
RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Rotterdam-Mohonasen Central School District, Towns of Rotterdam, Schenectady County, and Colonie and Guilderland, Albany County, New York, be authorized to expend the sum of fifty-five million seven hundred and eighty thousand dollars ($55,780,000) for school purposes during the 2020-2021 school year and levy the necessary tax therefore.
The motion was passed unanimously, seven members present and voting.
Request for Acceptance of Monetary Donation from CSArch
MOTION made by Mrs. Escobar, seconded by Mr. Abbott that the Board of Education approve the acceptance of a monetary donation in the amount of $500 from CSArch.
