Minutes of Annual School District Meeting | Tuesday, June 16, 2020

Voting machines inspected, closed

At 7:53 PM Mr. Christopher Ruberti, District Clerk, declared the voting to be ended, and the voting machines were inspected and closed. The inspectors officially certified the following results:

The budget

Shall the following resolution be adopted, to wit:

RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Rotterdam-Mohonasen Central School District, Towns of Rotterdam, Schenectady County, and Colonie and Guilderland, Albany County, New York, be authorized to expend the sum of fifty-five million seven hundred thousand dollars ($55,780,000) for school purposes during the 2020-2021 school year and levy the necessary tax, therefore.

  • Number voting IN FAVOR of the proposed BUDGET: 1356
  • Number voting AGAINST the proposed BUDGET: 661

Proposition – Buses

Shall the following resolution be adopted, to wit:

RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Rotterdam-Mohonasen Central School District, Towns of Rotterdam, Schenectady County, and Colonie and Guilderland, Albany County, New York, is hereby authorized to pay the cost of the purchase of school buses of and for said School District, including incidental improvements and expenses in connection therewith, at a maximum estimated cost of four hundred and eighty thousand dollars ($480,000.00) and providing for the levy of a tax, therefore, to be collected in installments, with obligations of said School District to be issued in anticipation thereof in an amount not to exceed four hundred and eighty thousand dollars ($480,000.00)

  • Number voting AGAINST the proposed BUSES: 665

Members of the Board of Education

  • Number voting for Lisa Gaglioti: 1576
  • Number voting for Stacy MacTurk: 1558

Lisa Gaglioti and Stacy MacTurk will serve three-year terms from July 1, 2020 until June 30, 2023.

Ratified, confirmed results

MOTION made by Mrs. Gaglioti, seconded by Ms. Young, that all proceedings of this Annual School District Meeting be ratified and confirmed, to wit:  the proposed budget for the 2020-2021 school year in the amount of $55,780,000 was approved; the expenditure of $480,000 for the purchase of buses was approved; and Lisa Gaglioti and Stacy MacTurk were re-elected to the Board of Education.  The motion was approved unanimously by all those present, approximately 7 district residents.

MOTION made by Ms. Young, seconded by Mr. Abbott, that this special meeting be adjourned at 8:28 PM.
