Mr. Ruberti updated the Board on the current budget status.  He specifically noted that since the last meeting the District had received the final state budget.  In the final version the District’s aid was reduced approximately $400,000 from the initial budget proposed by the Governor in January.  He stated that the District would not be making cuts based on this information, but instead would be increasing the use of Appropriated Fund Balance.  He also told the Board that the state budget allowed for additional money to be withheld during the year if state revenues were lower than projected.  There was a brief Board discussion on these topics.

Mrs. Lewis, Mr. Hubbell, Ms. Sacks, Ms. Petrosino, and Mr. Macbeth gave a presentation on Career Development Occupational Studies and Work Based Learning.  This Work Based Learning program assists special education students learn skills to allow them to gain competitive employment upon graduating.  They are provided job coaching, assisted with soft skills, take field trips to area businesses and also run a coffee cart business for High School staff.  This past year a job fair for students was held where 53 businesses and 12 schools participated.
