All School Breakfast and Lunch Free to Start the School Year
All School Breakfast and Lunch Free to Start the School Year
The Rotterdam-Mohonasen Central School District would like to let families know that all students are now eligible for free school meals due to the USDA extending its free summer meals program.
The USDA recently announced that it was extending the program until December 31, 2020 or until the available funds expire. They are doing this to ensure that children have access to school meals during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a result, students who purchase breakfast or lunch at school will not be charged. Student account balances will be maintained until the USDA funding expires.
Please note that families who may qualify for the Free and Reduced Price Meal Program should still be submitting applications so that their eligibility is in place when the USDA funding expires.
Please also note that ALL students are able to receive school breakfast and lunch regardless of how you filled out the reopening survey. Those particular survey questions were only to gauge interest and were not binding.
We will keep you up to date as we receive more information.
