All-County Music Festival features district students
More than 30 Mohonasen students were selected to take part in the Schenectady All-County Music Festival Jan. 26-27 at Niskayuna High School.
The festival featured orchestra, concert band, choir and high school jazz band.
“These students were selected as top in the county,” said Kimberly Kondenar, Mohonasen Performing Arts Facilitator. “The students worked very hard in rehearsals for most of the day on Friday, with guest conductors from around the state.”
Saturday featured practice and dress rehearsal for an afternoon concert for family and community members.
“It was an amazing show. We were all so impressed by how mature the students sounded,” said Kondenar. ” I was especially proud of how well our Mohonasen students represented their district at the event.”
Congratulations to the students and the district staff who lead them in-district, including: Nancy Felberbaum, 6th grade orchestra; Kim Kondenar, 7th/8th grade orchestra; Nicole Gabriel 7th/8th grade choir, Jason Varga 7th/8th grade band, Daniel Jones, high school jazz band.
