| January 24, 2019

Dear Parent of an 8th Grade Student:

Each year we offer an 8th Grade Information Night for parents and prospective high school freshmen.  We are very excited about welcoming the Class of 2023 to Mohonasen High School and look forward to seeing both parents and students at the High School Information Night this year.

The Information Night will take place on Wednesday, January 30th starting at 6:30 pm in the high school auditorium.  The evening will begin with an overview of the high school academic program and current graduation requirements developed by the New York State Department of Education.  At 7:00 pm, parents and students will have the opportunity to walk through the High School as well as the CAT Building to learn in greater detail the various elective areas available to our students throughout their high school experience.  Refreshments will be served in the CAT Building. There will be faculty and students along the way to help with any questions you or your child may have.

Actual course selection for students will take place during school, the week after this program.  This will give students and parents time for an informed discussion of options prior to choosing electives for ninth grade.

Enclosed you will find a more detailed agenda for the evening as well as descriptions of the elective courses available to freshmen. Please look these over before you arrive to familiarize yourself with the information. Please bring a copy with you on January 30 (view or download a PDF copy here.)

We hope you will take advantage of the chance to view opportunities that will soon be available to you. We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, January 30. In the event of a snow day on Wednesday, this program will be rescheduled for the following evening.

Kevin G. Warren, Mohonasen High School Principal and staff of the MHS Counseling & Career Center
