Award winners on 7-1 team celebrate with ice cream party
Year-long award winners for the 7-1 team at Draper gathered a make-your-own ice cream sundae party on June 80. A total of 50 students were honored for their hard work, effort and dedication to education, their character and/or helpful demeanor, and going above and beyond.
The 7-1 team began a “Student Spotlight” board this year where each core team teacher selected one student to honor every few weeks. The teacher would write a small paragraph all about why the student was being honored and a photo of the student was featured, along with the paragraph, on the Spotlight Board the team created at Draper.
“We really wanted to put an emphasis on all of the good we see each and every day,” said Erin Degnan, Instructional Leader for the team. “In September we made this one of our team goals, and this is how we chose to do it. Our students loved it, and we plan to continue it again next year.”
The other award winners invited to the ice cream party were students the 7-1 teachers selected as Students of the Month and Character Breakfast students from the fall and spring.
