Ribbit's Lake Bass Population Study
Data for Years 1999 - 2003

In 2000 a new regulation was enacted on Ribbit's Lake. The length limit for large mouth bass was increased from 12 inches to 15 inches. The purpose of the new regulation was to improve the size-structure of the lake's bass population. That means, increase the percentage of big bass in the lake and decrease the percentage of little base in the lake.

Did the new regulation serve its purpose? It is 2004 now. Should the regulation stay at 15 inches?

Record the raw data from the tables below in your packets. From your raw data, figure out what percent of the bass were less than 12 inches, 12 - 15 inches, and greater than 15 inches for each year.

Once you are done, the next step is to gather data for the year 2004.
